The Green Bay Packers franchise joined the NFL in 1921, one year after the league was founded. In 1920, the NFL's first season, the NFL was known as the APFA, as it was in 1921. The league was renamed the NFL in 1922. The Green Bay Packers team began in 1919 but there were not part of the NFL (APFA) until 1921. Thus we can say the team began in 1919 and joined the NFL in 1921.
