About the Artists
Nola McConnan
Nola McConnan AOCA (Associate of the Ontario College of Art) lives in Toronto, Canada and has earned her living exclusively as a graphic artist, fine artist and designer for more than thirty-five years. Nola owns Merriweather Design Studio www.merriweatherdesignstudio.com and her works appear in a wide variety of corporate and private venues across North America.
In 1999 Nola made the leap from the art and nature pieces she was so well known for to uniform and stadium art – and in the decade following she painted more than 1000 uniform paintings and drew an additional 300+ meticulous pen and ink renderings of stadiums/arenas/ballparks. Nola’s 1000+ uniform paintings for Heritage Sports Art include all of the MLB’s National League uniforms, almost all of the NCAA football uniforms, all of the CFL uniforms, as well as many of the NFL uniforms and NHL jerseys.
Nola has always been an artist. Her first sale came in 1967, long before graduating in 1974 from the Ontario College of Art (AOCA Communication & Design). Nola is the first Associate of the Ontario College of Art (AOCA) to receive her Adult Education Staff Training (AESTC) designation - the teaching certification required to teach in the Ontario college system. Nola’s workshop classes encourage students to understand the why and how of creating images they want by drawing or painting with watercolor, mixed media or egg tempera.
